Nowadays, it is observed that public is switching from one network to the other with the same mobile number with the introduction of Mobile Number Portability(MNP). On 20 JAN 2011, the Mobile Number Portability came into existence across all telecom networks of India. Since, the launch, around 18 lakh of the population has availed this facility but many times it is observed that the customers are unhappy with the MNP procedure as they face my different kind of problems like
· Problem in getting unique porting code
· Application not get processed on time
· Rejection of porting request
· Problems with the postpaid customers

If you face any kind of such issue, you can follow the mention below procedure to resolve your issue as TRAI is observing the whole MNP procedure and complaints.

MOBILE NUMBER PORTABILITY CUSTOMER CARE SERVICE

At the initial stage, you can call the customer service number of your service provider. In return of filling a complaint, you will get an SMS containing complaint number, date and time of complaint about the future reference. The toll free numbers of various Telecom companies are mentioned below:

 CONTACT APPELLATE AUTHORITY FOR REDRESSAL

If you are not satisfied with the response of the first step or didn’t receive any response or any other reason which doesn’t meet your expectation. In these situations, you can approach to the Appellate Authority for Redressal. You can get the name and number of the Appellate Authority on the official website of the service provider and also on the slim booklet which you got at the time of purchasing sim. You are advised to keep the date and time of the complaint at Appellate Authority for future references.

APPROACH DEPARTMENT OF TELECOMMUNICATION FOR MNP

If even after the two steps, your issue is not resolved or you are not satisfied with the response, in that case, you can approach to the court or the public grievance cell of a department of Telecommunications(DoT). You can write about your complaint against service provider at:
