Airtel New Prepaid and Postpaid Plans: India’s Biggest Telecom network has planned to launch its own VoLTE service throughout the country by March 2018. The announcement has come after 1 week of Jio’s “Free Phone” announcement. In a meeting, Airtel MD & Cheif Executive, Gopal Vittal told that Airtel are making the final blue print to launch the services through out the country. Airtel Managing Director told that the Airtel’s Q2 profit has been declined to RS 365 Crores. Since the launch of the Jio VoLTE services in last year September, all the telecom network are facing a tough competition to keep their client’s happy. Jio’s offers have made the telecom industry to rethink marketing strategies from the scratch. Airtel’s plan to launch its own VoLTE services can be seen as an outcome of Jio effect in the market. Airtel Counter plans for jio RS 1500 phone
On Last Friday, Airtel announced that they are working on their VoLTE services to improve the voice call services. Airtel’s Managing Director & Cheif Executive, Gopal Vittal told that they have tested the VoLTE services in Few Metro cities and need about 8-10 month to launch VoLTE services through out the country. Once this service is launched by the Airtel, it will become the 2nd network to provide to VoLTE services after Reliance Jio, give all the users an option to switch their networks.
Will Airtel provide Mobile Like Jio RS 1500?
According to the sources, Airtel will not manufacture the mobile phone like Reliance Jio as Airtel is not interested in creating a new division for the mobile technologies. As per Airtel MD, Airtel will tie up with the partner phone companies to make feature 4G phone. By opting this option, Airtel will choices to its users to select Feature phone as per their needs and necessity.
Future Price War
On asking about the launch of the Reliance cheapest world smart phone, Airtel Managing director said that this will create a healthy competition in the market and will push the makers to make more featured smart phone at a less price. He said, that about 60-70 % phone sold in India are below the range of RS 1000 and hence the reliance Jio RS 1500 smart phone is being sold on an expensive side. Being said that, one can expect that Airtel smart phone range will smart from RS 1000, which will provide a tough competition to the current Jio’s RS 1500 phone.
